Excursions

• To familiarize with the history of the city (the by-pass road along and the bridge over the Irtysh River, the sacred hills of Jurassic formation, the most ancient district of the city – Samarovo, the River Port, the Church of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin, the Stele to the Explorers of the Siberian Lands)
• To visit one of the best in Russia and in the World centers of Biathlon, including biathlon stadium, tracks, firing lines, rope-way, and tracks for mountain-skiing, etc.
• To see the central square – one of the most beautiful places of Khanty-Mansiysk, the Victory Park, the Eternal Fire, and the Rotonda Fountain.
• To visit the ethnographic natural park “Torum Maa” (literally “The Sacred Land”) under the open sky: winter and summer nomad camps of the Khanty and Mansi, sacrificial places, and sacred places where idols are placed.
• To visit the Center of Arts & Local Handicrafts where one may acquire the examples of local handicrafts – souvenirs made of beads, wood, birch bark, ivory and fir, and winter footwear of the Khanty and Mansi – kisy.
• To take a walk to the Valley of Rivulets – a beautiful area of Northern nature and natural springs. The oldest cedar tree which is as old as the city itself is growing here.
